Product Overview
With the continuous development and progress of society, China’s urban power grids have undergone significant changes, with most
cities having already established—or currently establishing—numerous areas of high electricity demand. The traditional method of
supplying power directly to end-users via 12/24 kV lines (or feeder lines) from substations is no longer sufficient to meet the demands
of urban development. Consequently, a new method of power supply has emerged, involving the supply of electricity to users via
switching stations. However, as urban densification intensifies, some of the existing civil-engineering-based switching stations have
come under constraints imposed by land availability and urban planning. Consequently, a more advanced and practical solution has
emerged: the outdoor intelligent switching station (outdoor ring main unit). This type of switching station requires no civil engineering
works, occupies minimal space, offers highly flexible configuration, provides a more reliable power supply, and significantly reduces
the time required for construction, installation and commissioning, whilst lowering overall costs.
With the development of modern industry, the automation and intelligence of electrical control equipment are becoming increasingly
sophisticated. By utilising modern electronic technology, sensor technology, communication technology and computer network
technology to integrate the monitoring, protection, control and metering of power equipment under both normal and fault conditions,
achieving effective management has become an inevitable trend and direction of development.
The intelligent switchyard (outdoor ring main unit) adopts and draws upon advanced international technologies. It integrates 12/24 kV
switchgear, circuit breakers, load switches, current and voltage transformers, 12/24 kV power transformers (PTs), switchyard FTUs,
RTUs, communication control units (CCUs), 12/24 kV metering and automatic meter reading systems, UPS power supplies and
indicating instruments, all installed and commissioned within a single, movable, sealed and moisture-proof stainless steel enclosure.
This realises the integration of primary and secondary systems within urban distribution networks, enables modular assembly, shortens
construction cycles, and significantly enhances the operational reliability of urban power grids.
