The ZW43-12 outdoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker is an outdoor power distribution device with a rated voltage of 12
kV and a three-phase AC frequency of 50 Hz. This circuit-breaker is primarily used for breaking and making load currents,
overload currents and short-circuit currents in power systems, as well as for instantaneous protection, earth fault protection,
selectable reclosing frequency, local remote control and remote communication functions. It is suitable for use in substations
and the power distribution systems of industrial and mining enterprises for protection and control purposes. In the event of a
fault occurring within a user’s premises on a 12 kV T-connected circuit, or where the fault occurs on the user’s side of the
feeder switch but the protection time delay is incompatible with that of the substation feeder switch, this will result in the
substation feeder switch tripping. If the fault is permanent and the substation is unable to successfully reclose, a fault within a
single medium-voltage user’s premises will cause a power outage along the entire distribution feeder. Such cascading faults,
which are common in power grids, can cause significant losses to society. The ZW43-12F outdoor high-voltage vacuum circuit
breaker (hereinafter referred to as the circuit breaker), installed at the point of responsibility demarcation on overhead lines—
that is, at the front end of the user’s incoming line—will automatically isolate single-phase earth faults and phase-to-phase
short-circuit faults within the user’s premises. This prevents faults within the user’s premises from affecting the transmission
feeder, ensures the safety of power supply to non-faulty users, and enhances the reliability of power supply.
